What is the Trail?DSC_0097

The Trail is a resource that West End uses to make sure that the ministries of the church are a part of a larger faith journey. The various ministries are designed to build upon each other so that the children will grow in spiritual maturity. Each ministry has goals geared towards their age group, which allows church to partner with the parents in a dynamic and growing relationship.

“These are the trail markers at West End.”

If you have any questions about the various ministries, be sure to contact our Manager of Ministries, Paul House, he would love to hear from you!

“Welcome (ages 0-2)”

In WELCOME the Church Nursery is staffed by trained childcare workers during the Sunday morning worship service. Welcome also has the opportunity to be involved in a child presentation/parent dedication service, which includes great parent preparation sessions.

“Wonder (ages 3-4)”

In WONDER the children get to be apart of Kinder-Worship during the second part of the Sunday morning worship service. This age appropriate learning engages the children to learn the truth of Scripture in a fun environment.

The leaders are trained in West End’s current child protection policy and are prepared with great curriculum for the children in wonder.

“Discover (ages 5-8)”

In DISCOVER, the children take part in Children’s Worship during the second part of the Sunday morning worship service. In children’s worship, they will hear Bible stories, memorize Scripture, pray together, and much more. Discover is always a fun environment for the Children to learn and grow in their walk with the Lord.

“Launch & Flyte (9-11)”

Pre-teens join together during the Sunday morning worship service and learn from the top notch curriculum called Flyte. They also  have weekly Friday night event (Launch) where they will grow as a community and receive spiritual nurture. This high energy and loving group is a blast to be with, so make sure to join the fun!

“Explore (ages 12-14)”

In EXPLORE, the Jr. High students join the congregation on Sunday Mornings. On Friday night the fun does not stop as they gather together for their weekly Youth Group Gatherings. Throughout the year these teens have the opportunity to attend various conferences and serve in a variety of ways. Being a teenager is not always smooth sailing, that’s why we at West End want to support the parents and teens as they go through Jr. High.

“Experience (ages 15-17)”

In EXPERIENCE, the Sr. High students join the congregation on Sunday Mornings. On Friday night the fun does not stop as they gather together for their weekly Youth Group Gatherings. Throughout the year these teens have the opportunity to attend various conferences and serve in a variety of ways. Being a teenager is not always smooth sailing, that’s why we at West End want to support the parents and teens as they go through Sr. High.

“Emerge (ages 18-25)”

In EMERGE, we as a body of Christ get to walk with a fabulous group of young adults. Whether they are in St. John’s for school or work, entering adulthood can be daunting. We have committed to having weekly life groups for deeper exploration of the Bible and faith as they grow together. There is a wide variety of service opportunities in the church and in the community which we encourage the young adults to be a part of.

West End also partners with Memorial University Christian Fellowship (MUNCF), which offers various small and large group activities events and outreach for students.

“Invest (ages 26+)”

Invest is just as much a part of the Trail as Welcome. Join us in our weekly worship service and do not miss the opportunity to be a part of a growing life groups for deeper growth and connection in the body of Christ. There are opportunities to give, lead and serve in all aspects of church life at West End.

“Life Groups”

We believe that life together is better.  It is within community that we learn and grow.  Watch for our Life Group listing this Fall.

In our Church Nursery, we WELCOME infants into our church family. The Church Nursery is staffed by trained childcare workers during the Sunday morning worship service. As a part of our ministry to this age group, we offer the opportunity to be involved in a child presentation/parent dedication service, which includes great parent preparation sessions.
