The Newfoundland Baptist Youth Association includes every Youth and Young Adult who identifies themselves with a Newfoundland and Labrador CABC-affiliated church, whether through a youth group or church membership. The NBYA Executive is a small group of youth elected from this body who strive to foster spiritual growth in the youth of our province, as well as to maintain and strengthen the connections between the individuals and youth groups spread out across the province.

This two-fold task culminates each year in Spring Forth NL, an annual event that started way back in 1985. This weekend retreat, which happens every Victoria Day weekend is planned and run by the Newfoundland Baptist Youth Association. After attending the first ever
Springforth in Moncton NB, which is run by theConvention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, there was a desire to create a similar event for the youth of Newfoundland and Labrador. Since traveling to Moncton was deemed too expensive and difficult, the NBYA decided to start their own 'Springforth' event.

Over the years SFNL has grown in a different direction than its mainland counterpart as the youth of the NBYA have made this event their own. SFNL has become a four day spiritual retreat for youth aged 13 to 25 that is filled with fun, laughter, music and life changing challenges from God's word.

Over the last two years, a second annual event has continued to develop. Held in late autumn, Let Fall focuses on the need for a continued commitment to a meaningful and dedicated examination of scripture, combined with a real openness to a deeper level of communication with God.

The NBYA is completely run by an executive of youth and young adults who are elected to their positions every year at SFNL. From booking venues and speakers, to designing unique activities, this small committee puts together an amazing event year after year.
